By now, many of us are aware of Marzano (how could we not...almost everything comes from him, or originates with him!) and maybe somewhat knowledgeable about his Levels of Understanding. Tim really wanted to incorporate this important, critical piece of learning into his room. So, we started searching the internet (Pinterest really, lets be honest) and Teachers Pay Teachers and we came up with a lot of younger kids resources (one of those is even ours!). But, there wasn't a lot for the upper grades.

So, we went back to the beginning and looked at the resources I used to create materials for my elementary students. Since I taught upper elementary and I coach grades K-8 I had a few resources I've used. But, as you can see they don't really work well for the older secondary students (or at least not all the time, there are always times when a good thumbs up is needed!).
Tim wanted something that was geared towards a more mature audience. Those of you that work with older kids know that if anything is too "baby-ish" it is dismissed even if it was a good idea. Here is what he came up with:
